Farm Minister: Hungary, Russia continued agriculture cooperation mutual interest
(MTI) – A continued cooperation in agriculture between Hungary and Russia is in the two countries’ mutual interest, the Hungarian farm minister said on Monday.
Sandor Fazekas met his Russian counterpart Nikolay Fydorov for talks in Moscow.
Fazekas told MTI that he and Fyodorov agreed that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be resolved through sanctions, and should be settled through negotiations.
The two ministers reviewed bilateral agricultural relations and expressed mutual interest in boosting them in all areas.
They identified animal health, technology transfer and agritourism as new prospective fields of cooperation, Fazekas said.
He said that the dispute between the EU and Russia does not influence relations between the two ministries which he said were good.
The two countries’ officials will have the next opportunity to meet in late September, at the session of the Hungarian-Russian mixed economic committee, Fazekas said.
