Hungary supports EU-Malaysia free trade pact
Budapest, December 15 (MTI) – Hungary supports plans for a free trade pact between the European Union and Malaysia, the Economy Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hungary would welcome the start of ratification in 2016 as this would greatly increase Europe’s competitiveness in Asia, the document said.
Earlier in the day, foreign minister Peter Szijjarto met Tan Sri Datatuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin bin Haji Mulia, the Malaysian house speaker, for talks in Budapest.
Parties at the talks discussed Hungarian participation in Malaysia’s 72 billion dollar economy development programme, as well as expanding bilateral education ties.
The Malaysian official on Monday met Laszlo Kover, his Hungarian counterpart.
