Putin in Budapest – President Ader meets Russian president
Budapest, February 17 (MTI) – President Janos Ader met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Budapest on Tuesday.
The meeting was the last leg of Putin’s one-day working visit to Hungary.
The Russian president arrived in Budapest in the afternoon and laid flowers of commemorations on the heroes’ memorial stone at Heroes’ Square before doing the same at the refurbished tombstones of Soviet soldiers in the Fiumei Street Cemetery.
Putin held talks with Prime Minister Viktor Orban, followed by a joint press conference.
The two countries concluded an agreement on training Hungarian nuclear experts in Russia and another one under which a Hungarian consulate-general will open in Kazan, the seat of the Republic of Tatarstan. Further agreements were signed on health care and higher education as well as regional cooperation.
