Record 1.4m visitors in Hungary national parks in 2014
Budapest, February 24 (MTI) – A record number of 1.4 million people visited Hungary’s national parks in 2014, the agriculture ministry said on Tuesday.
The number of visitors went up by 42,000 compared to 2013, the ministry said in a release.
The largest increase, 25 percent, was registered in the Bukk National Park in north-eastern Hungary. Visitor numbers increased by over 10 percent in the Duna-Drava, Ferto-Hansag, Duna-Ipoly and Koros-Maros national parks.
Hungary’s ten national parks offer a number of programmes including nature exhibitions, tours and eco-tourism events.
