Gigantic rubbish island floating on River Tisza – VIDEO
Euronews captured a quite shocking phenomenon: an incredible amount of rubbish piled up on River Tisza. The litter, which in some places goes 3 metres deep, is assumed to have been carried by the drift of the waves from the upper section of the river.
The rubbish island is primarily made up of driftwood and household litter – dominated by plastic waste. The current state set a new record as the amount of the rubbish could even reach 8 thousand tons.
