FINA World Aquatics Gala: Main award goes to Katinka Hosszú, Tusup rewarded

The best male and female athletes of the year across FINA’s six disciplines were award tonight in Windsor, Canada, right on the riverfront overlooking the Detroit skyline (USA). The awards were handed out on the occasion of the third edition of the FINA World Aqutics Gala Diner which now has a long-time partner Chinese giant Alisports, it was announced at the beginning of the festivities tonight. Index.hu writes that the Day of Architecture was held last week and the Budapest Architecture Chamber awarded its standard prizes on the occasion. Young researchers rewarded by MTA

Index.hu reports, referring to MTI, that further 11 research teams would be established, thanks to the Lendület programme of MTA (Hungarian Scientific Academy). The winning applications include research dealing with the Peace Treaty of Trianon, the controlling principles of human balancing, and research dealing with the features of the gas that fills space between the galaxies. The African-Hungarian Union was recently rewarded for being authentic and trustworthy. It was the first time that a civil organization got the Award for giving authentic information (Hiteles tájékoztatásért díj), and it was taken by Sándor Balogh, president of AHU at the Spokespeople’s ball, globoport.hu reports. High qualification well rewarded in Hungary, OECD report finds

Budapest (MTI) – High qualification is well rewarded in Hungary in terms of earnings, with workers holding university degrees earning twice as much as those with a secondary education, the OECD said in its Education at a Glance 2015 report. The report said the large earnings advantage may in part be due to the relatively small share of people holding higher education degrees in Hungary. The report said Hungary has one of the largest pay gender gaps among OECD countries.
