1848 – Hungarian Revolution Day celebration was held in Delhi
The Hungarian Cultural Institute in Delhi commenced Hungarian Revolution Day celebrations on Wednesday in India.
The anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848’s outbreak, 15 March, is one of Hungary’s three national holidays.
A special event was held at the graves of Mr. Imre Schwaiger, his wife and son at Nicholson Cemetery, Kashmere Gate, Delhi.
The event was presided over by Mr. Pál Bódogh-Szabó, Director of the Institute and coordinated by Hungarian Teacher, Dr. Mária Köves. Present and former students of Hungarian language at Delhi University recited the historic Hungarian poem, Nemzeti Dal (National Song) by Sándor Petőfi.
