Authorities are destroying 5,000 birds in Hungary – here is why
Avian influenza has been detected at a farm in southeast Hungary, food safety authority Nebih said on its website.
The virus subtype H5N1 was detected at a turkey farm in Békés County. The close to 5,000 birds are being destroyed and restrictions have been introduced. Nébih detected bird flu at several other farms in other counties in November.
