Authorities issue Hungary heat alert from 12 noon

Hungary’s chief medical officer has issued a heat alert for the whole country, expected to be in force from noon on Monday until Friday midnight.

Temperatures higher than average may even put healthy individuals under stress and trigger health problems, Cecília Müller said in a statement.

Hazy cloud with occasional showers in northern parts. Strong south-westerly winds.

Highs: 31, 37 C.
