Budapest concert to celebrate Ireland’s St. Brigid
A concert celebrating St. Brigid’s Day will be organised in courtesy of the Irish Embassy at the Budapest Liszt Academy of Music on February 3, the embassy said on Monday.
Saint Brigid of Kildare is a patron saint of Ireland and is celebrated on February 1 which marks the first day of spring in Ireland, the symbol of hope, renewal and femininity, the embassy said in a statement.
The Budapest concert will feature pieces celebrating the creativity of women by Irish and Hungarian composers and performed by artists of the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Liszt Academy.
The concert starting at 7pm will be streamed online at the Liszt Academy’s website.
