Budapest residential gas prices cheapest in Europe
Residential natural gas prices in Budapest have been the cheapest among European capitals since September 2019, Hungary’s public utilities regulator said on Friday.
At 2.81 eurocents per kilowatt hour on average, Budapest’s residents have the cheapest gas, while according to the price data of 27 EU capitals, as well as Belgrade and London, the average household price of electricity in Budapest in May 2021 was 10.40 eurocents per kilowatt hour, the second lowest price among the capitals included in the survey and the lowest among the EU capitals, the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (MEKH) said in a statement.
