Jaroslav Kubera, chairman of the upper house of the Czech Parliament (Senate), died on Monday at the age of 72, Milos Vystrcil, chairman of the Civic Democratic Party caucus in the Senate, confirmed on twitter.
Local media reports said
the cause of Kubera’s death was health failure.
According to Czech News Agency (CTK) sources, Kubera complained of nausea in his office in Teplice early Monday morning and was taken to a hospital where he died.
Kubera, a member of the opposition Civic Democratic Party (ODS), became deputy head of the Senate in 2016. Two years later he was elected its chairman.
