The testing period will be August 9 and 22 in lines 158, 16, 15, 27, and 102.

The buses are made by the Chinese BYD company, which produced its one-millionth vehicle a couple of days ago, which is exceptional in the industry.

Its greatest electric bus fleet currently circulates in London.

The firm has a factory in Komárom, where it started to make electric buses four years ago. Based on the plans, they will expand their capacity next year to 1,000 buses per year. Now is the first time that their midi version (8.75m instead of 12m) will be tested in the Hungarian capital. This kind of bus can circulate 150km with one charge.

There are about 8,600 buses in London. Only 316 are solely electric. Hardly a big fleet.

We had the pleasure to travel on this Electric Bus running route 15.
    Extremely comfortable ride.
Suspension of greater superiority to our present fleet of buses working the 16 bus route.
Air Conditioning – a day of 30 degrees plus – pleasantly effective.
Look forward to the expansion of these electric buses – enviromental friendly – in our transportation public service fleet.
Hopefully – we are nearer retiring those Diesal Fuelled Buses – still in use part of our public transport fleet.
It’s the way of the future – electric public transport bus services.
It will take time, like Britain when Beeching – Transport Minister – under the McMillian Government in the early part of the 1960’s – decided that Steam Locomotives had to go, in favour of Diesel operation and “under the wires” on the East Coast Line of Great Britain.
It took time – in Britain, but it happened not without major controversy – and by the late 1960’s – Steam Locomotives had been “retired” from the role they had played in Britain since the early part of the 19th century.
Dr. Richard Beeching – later Baron Beeching – interesting read it is – on this individuals background – and the – POWER – he was granted under the British Prime Minister at that time – Harold McMillian – later 1st Earl of Stockton – to re-shape Rail Transportation in Britain.
Was Beeching a “square peg in a round hole ” – you be the judge after you read of him BUT he did carry through on his agenda – for better or for worse.
McMillan – could have choosen an individual of greater knowledge and background – in the fields that Beeching – was responsible – under the title of Transport Minister.
Beeching – all these years on – but the crosses on his porfolio – hugely – outnumber the ticks.
A “dity” written on Beeching – words as Follow :
“Oh Dr. Beeching what have you done
There used to be lots of trains
but soon there will be none.
I will have to buy a bike, cause I can’t afford a car,
Oh Dr. Beeching what a naughty man you are.
