The Chinese Embassy in Hungary has provided Chinese students studying here with health packs containing anti-epidemic guide and medical kits, as COVID-19 cases in the country near 1,000 as of Thursday.
“So far, more than 2,400 Chinese students studying here and Chinese teachers at Confucius Institutes in Hungary have received the health packs,” according to a press release on the embassy’s official website on Thursday.
Since the outbreak, the Chinese Embassy in Hungary has been in close contact with the Hungarian government to ensure the legitimate rights of Chinese citizens and students in Hungary, the release added.
“As Chinese, we feel very proud and have confidence in combating and overcoming the pandemic,” a student was quoted as saying.
The distribution of the health packs is part of the efforts by the Chinese government to help protect the health and safety of overseas Chinese students in countries hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to official figures, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Hungary stood at 980 on Thursday, with 96 recoveries and 66 fatalities.
