As we reported, Hungarian Gripens were alerted many times in the last few days. There was a bomb threat on a Serbian-registered passenger aircraft flying from Saint Petersburg to Belgrade on Friday. Moreover, an Austrian small plane breached the no-fly zone over the Paks nuclear power plant later that day. In mid-March, a Russian Tu-141 drone crashlanded in Croatia, and it arrived from Hungarian airspace.
Euronews reported that the Gripens were alerted today at 8 am because of an unidentified flying object. The fighters flew there, but the object did not enter Hungarian airspace. The jets remained patroling there for a while but returned to their Kecskemét airbase since nothing happened.
