Hungary backs US candidate for OECD secretary-general
Hungary supports the candidacy of Chris Liddell, US President Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff, for the post of OECD secretary-general, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s foreign minister, said on Facebook on Sunday.
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, which is scheduled to elect its secretary-general soon, will play a major role in shaping the new world economic order, he said.
“We do believe that there is room for patriotic economic policies under the Sun, insist that economic policies should remain under national control, and consider it obvious that economic policies reflect national characteristics,” Szijjártó said.
