Hungary saves HUF 10 bn with early USD debt repayment
Hungary has saved almost 10 billion forints (EUR 27.6m) this year by repaying 430 million dollars in public debt before maturity, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said in a video message posted on Facebook on Thursday.
Â
The early repayment was financed with debt that has lower interest and a longer maturity, Varga said. The move saved the country money, extended the maturity of its state debt and strengthened its financial stability, he added.
