Hungary staunchly rejects anti-Israeli criticism, policies
Hungary will always take a stand in international organisations against those criticising Israel or pursuing anti-Israeli policies, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s foreign minister, said on Monday after a phone call with his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid.
Hungary will always defend Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorist organisations and attacks,
Szijjártó said on Facebook.
The minister noted that he had first met Lapid back in 2013 during the Israeli’s term as finance minister.
Lapid expressed thanks for Hungary’s continuous support for Israel, Szijjártó said, adding that he assured him that Israel could always count on Hungary in the future.
Szijjártó said he was looking forward to an opportunity to host his Israeli counterpart in Budapest as soon as possible.
