Árpád János Potápi, the state secretary in charge of policies for Hungarian communities abroad, presented thematic programmes for 2022 on Thursday, adding that the year would be that of ‘a pro-active nation’.
The existence of a strong Hungary is vital to the success of policies for Hungarian communities abroad because it represents a secure point of reference for ethnic Hungarians beyond the borders, he said. This involves the representation and protection of their interests in various forums, including in parliament, in Brussels and in central Europe more broadly, he added.
Ever since 2010, the government has strived to turn Hungary into a vital and strong country, he said.
