Danish household retail chain Jysk’s 65 billion forint (EUR 184.8m) investment will create 300 new jobs in Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, the foreign affairs and trade minister, said on Tuesday.
The investment will see Jysk build a regional distribution centre in Ecser, near Budapest, Szijjártó told a press conference. The 143,000 square metre logistics base will supply seven countries from 2022.
The government is supporting the project with 3.6 billion forints.
Szijjártó said creating new jobs was the best way to make sure Hungary is in the best possible position once the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak subsides. The minister said
Hungary must create “at least as many jobs as are lost during the state of emergency“.
