One of the biggest Hungarian universities to start new semester online
Because of the fifth wave of the coronavirus caused by omicron, the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest will start the new semester in February online.
According to index.hu, the university said they wanted to protect the students and assure safe teaching and learning environment. Moreover, they would like to reduce the number of omitted classes in the new semester. ELTE did not exclude that they would switch back to offline education during the semester. However, they would prefer the online form for at least three weeks.
The decision is interesting since the inoculation rate at the university is almost 100 pc.
