Not far from Budapest, the Hungarian capital, a beautiful scenery reveals itself for anyone who wanders around the Pilis Mountains in the Pilisvörösvár, Pilisszántó and Csobánka triangle.
In the area, large fields of blue or purple tansy are grown and it turns the scenery into a mesmerizingly beautiful purple carpet.
As the names suggests, the flowers’ purplish or bluish petals usually blossom from the end of May until August. It is a little late due to the weather, but as 24 writes,
the tansy have been blossoming for a few weeks turning the area around the Pilis Mountains into the Hungarian Tuscany.
The purple tansy is used for several reasons: as green manure, fodder, and due to its long blossoming period, it is perfect as a bee pasture as well.
The beautiful photos are the works of Ede Somorjai.
