Festival of Folk Arts in the Buda Palace
One of the most prestigious events every summer in the capital is worthwhile attending for all ages. This colorful 4-day event will include stage programs, children’s programs/games and the artisan fair. You can also take part in the parade and the blessing of the bread.
The festival takes place in the Buda Palace area, from 17-20 August.
From august 17th to 20th, the event’s main topic is embroidery, one of the richest and most varied branch of the Hungarian folk arts. In the Festival of Folk Arts’ embroidery workshop they show the diversity of the folk and gentle embroidery of raw materials, motifs, and stitching techniques. They embroidered the most ceremonius pieces of the medium, and therefore had a major role in the different pieces of folk costumes, pillowcases, cloths, blankets, tablecloths, and the necessities of religious ceremonies as well.

and you can enjoy the programme of the stages and gastronomy until 11.00 PM.

On this weekend:
1st American BBQ Picniq will be held in Budapest between 11th and 13th August. The real American feeling, pride of the southern states and massive BBQ smell will occupy a part of Kopaszi-gát.
Also the 4th Day of Ancestors (Ősök Napja) festival will be held between the 11th and 13th of August by the Hungarian Turan Association in Bugacpuszta.
