Budapest Spring Festival opens
Budapest, April 10 (MTI) – The Budapest Spring Festival, a mayor event of the city’s cultural calendar, was opened with a photo exhibition in the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art on Friday.
The exhibition presents more than 200 black-and-white and colour images taken by Oscar-winning Hungarian-born cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond in his native country and during his career in the United States.
Opening the exhibition, Human Resources Minister Zoltan Balog praised Zsigmond for his achievements in cinematography.
Alexandra Szalay-Bobrovniczky, deputy mayor of Budapest, said that the internationally renowned spring festival turns the Hungarian capital into a “vibrant cultural centre” for two weeks.
The festival running until April 26 will offer some 200 programmes featuring classical, jazz, world music, theatre and dance performances and exhibitions.
