Hungary shows encouraging signs on World Marriage Day
Budapest, February 6 (MTI) – Europe is “sick, decadent and its population is shrinking,” Péter Hoppál, state secretary for culture at the ministry of human resources said on Saturday, World Marriage Day. “In contrast, trends in Hungary look reassuring,” he added.
Speaking in front of a gathering of large families in the southern city of Pécs, Hoppál said that the community of families in Hungary is strong in spite of the weakening trends seen in the rest of Europe.
The community of churches, large families and the government must face with determination the liberal world and its “self-realisation” ideology, he said, adding that Hungary was alone in Europe in strengthening the security of families.
