Pragmatic cooperation between east and west European interest, says Szijjarto

Budapest, May 11 (MTI) – It is in Europe’s interest that cooperation between the eastern and western sides of the continent should remain “cultured and pragmatic”, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Monday.
He told a press conference in response to a question about talks during his visit to Moscow last week that it would be contary to Europe’s economic interests if “a wall were built instead of bridges” at Russia’s western borders. The German proposal to maintain dialogue between the European Union and the Eurasian Union is logical and legitimate, he added.
At the same time, a precondition of such dialogue is that the Minsk agreement to peacefully resolve the Ukraine crisis is observed, he said, adding that every participant in the conflict should meet all points of that agreement.
