Railway unions might hold national strike in first week of March
Budapest, February 12 (MTI) – The trade unions of railway workers will announce a national strike in the first week of March if no agreement is reached in ongoing wage talks by Feb. 20, the VDSZSZ Solidarity trade union’s head said on Friday.
Talks on minimum required services will be initiated later on Friday, Zoltán Havasi said at a joint press conference with other six trade union leaders.
László Kiss, head of the train drivers’ trade union, said that in line with a court decision, freight transport is not part of minimum required services.
The seven trade unions of railway workers formed a strike committee on Friday after an unsuccessful round of wage talks on the previous day.
