Vona addresses Jobbik youth chapter’s congress
Budapest, March 4 (MTI) – Jobbik’s youth chapter is Hungary’s “strongest and most dynamic” organization, Gábor Vona, head of opposition Jobbik said at the congress of the party’s youth chapter in Budapest on Saturday.
The party’s youth chapter needs to provide Jobbik with support, help, energy and bring freshness to the party, Vona told the congress.
He said the youth chapter’s current “strong structure” was both an advantage and a drawback. He said the structure was advantageous because it provided a forum where like-minded people with similar sets of values could find each other. But it can also be a drawback, he said, arguing that “having something handed to you” can make one too comfortable and as a result, extinguish their ambition and will to act.
Vona said the members of the ruling Fidesz party’s youth chapter looked like they had lost their “will to act, the fire and revolutionary desire that should be there in the eyes and hearts of Hungarian youths”.
He called on members of Jobbik’s youth chapter to stay humble and modest if Jobbik came to power and view politics as the service of the people and the nation.
Gergely Farkas has re-elected as Jobbik IT’s leader, chairmanship: Klaudia Kiriák, Tamás Nichter, Árpád Zsolt Bús, Márk Kósi, Dániel Varga, Péter Völgyi, Richárd Benke and Gergely Kálló.
