Hungary the fifth country in the EU with the lowest unemployment rate
Although the unemployment rate has increased in the previous period in Hungary, the situation is still satisfying compared to other European countries under the pressure of the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic.
HVG reported that the unemployment rate has increased to 7.8% in the European Union, which is 0.8% higher than last year’s data, as Eurostat reported. The Hungarian rate, 4.6%, is the fifth-lowest number from all EU countries.Â
However, in the region, Hungary is not in the best situation, as the unemployment rate is only 2.7% in the Czech Republic and 3.1% in Poland. Malta (4.1%) and Germany (4.4%) also have better statistics.
The worst situation in the EU is in Spain, with an unemployment rate of 16.2%. Out of the 15.6 million unemployed citizens of the EU, 3.4 million are Spanish citizens. Greece is probably doing worse than Spain, but the only data we know is from June when the rate was 18.3%. The country with the third-worst results is Italy where 9.7% of the nation is unemployed.
