Three Hungarian cities are among the 100 most popular tourist destinations

Trivago.com is the world’s biggest website which lets you search for hotel rooms in different cities, and the list is based on the ratings of visitors, 24.hu writes. Among the 100 most popular destinations (which all have affordable rooms and excellent sights) there are three Hungarian cities this year.

Trivago.com compares 900 000 hotel rooms from 250 different websites every day, and according to their data, 80 million people use the website to book rooms in every month. The site has 200 million user ratings and 14 million photos to help tourists to find the best place to stay for the lowest possible price.

Thanks to a special algorithm called the Best Value Index trivago lets users see which destinations have the best ratings.  The index combines hotel prices, guests’ ratings, so all the top 100 destinations have affordable prices and great sights.

Based on the algorithm, three Hungarian cities made it to the top 100: Pécs (8), Győr (43), and Szeged (50). The Chinese Fenghuang was ranked first and five European and three Asian cities also made it to the top 10.

The list should be a guideline for 2016, based on ratings from 1 October 2014 to 30 September 2015; the prices were based on one double-bedded room for a single night.
