Held in a special location on the closed runway I of Budapest Airport, the competition is traditionally one of the most popular sporting events for aviation professionals, where the athletes of SUHANJ! Foundation, and a limited number of civilian sportspeople can also enter. The latter option is open to everyone interested this year on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a call for entries posted on Budapest Airport’s online interfaces, where 100 registration opportunities will be available.
As the company believes it is important for everyone to be able to experience the thrill of sport, it is also launching a category called Kids’ Fun Run, in addition to the traditional distances for adults and children. In this category, children aged 14 or under can compete on their own or accompanied by their parents. This year, children can compete in three age groups at a distance of one or two kilometers for the very first time.
You can enter the 11th Runway Run in the following categories:
Adult
- Women’s or men’s 5 km
- Women’s or men’s 10 km
Children
- Aged between 6 and 8: 1 km
- Aged between 9 and 11: 2 km
- Aged between 12 and 14: 2 km
Kids’ Fun Run
- Parents and children aged 14 or under: 1 km
To help participants prepare, Budapest Airport will draw up a six-week training plan, which will be sent to entrants after registration.
