Adjusted for the calendar year, sales also grew by 3 percent, up from 2.4 percent in the month prior. Adjusted food sales fell by 2.8 percent in September, while non-food sales grew by 2.7 percent. Vehicle fuel sales rose by 18.6 percent. Retail sales totalled 1,457 billion forints, with food sales making up 46 percent, non-food sales 36 percent, and vehicle fuel 18 percent of the total.
Hungary industry output up 11.3 pc yr/yr in Sept
Adjusted for the number of working days, output increased by 11.6 percent, up from 9.1 percent growth in the previous month. Output of the automotive industry and the computer, electronics and optical equipment sectors showed robust growth, KSH said, while the increase in output of the food, drinks and tobacco products segment was less marked.
In the Jan-Sept period, output grew by an annual 6.7 percent. Month on month, output increased by 1.6 percent, based on seasonally and working day-adjusted data.
