Jobbik slams ruling party for failing to clear up graft associated with Left

Jobbik

Budapest, January 15 (MTI) – The ruling Fidesz party’s failure to hold leftist politicians to account over shady deals in the past has led to the recent gaining ground of “Liberal-Left powers”, a leader of the radical nationalist Jobbik party told a press conference on Wednesday.

Jobbik’s deputy group leader Marton Gyongyosi slammed the ruling party for “doing nothing” to clear up the alleged cases of corruption, and went on to suggest that Fidesz could also be linked to the deals. Gyongyosi also argued that the large amount of public orders awarded to business circles associated with the government indicate that politics and business were just as intertwined now as under Hungary’s former, leftist governments.

Should Jobbik win power at the upcoming general election, radical nationalists will be a “relentless judge” to both Fidesz and parties of the Left, Gyongyosi added.
