Gems from Italian and French operas feature in Hungarian soprano’s online aria recital
The multi-award winner coloratura soprano Klára Kolonits presents her brand-new aria recital with excerpts from the bel canto, Italian and French repertoire. The exclusive programme featuring soloists Atala Schöck, Szabolcs Brickner and pianist Dániel Dinyés includes pieces by Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Charpentier, Massenet and Meyerbeer. The performance can be viewed online on 24 April 2021, at 8:00 p.m. CET in the Opera Stream series.
Coloratura soprano Klára Kolonits has enchanted the Hungarian State Opera audience for almost two decades in roles of heroines by Mozart, Meyerbeer, Donizetti, Bellini, Verdi, Offenbach and Erkel. She has also made a name in several countries of Europe by performing her most iconic roles such as the Queen of the Night, Luisa Miller, or Violetta Valéry. Beside operas, she can frequently be heard at song recitals and concerts as well as introductory lectures.
Her repertoire includes pieces from baroque to contemporary works.
In her aria recital, she makes a selection of such bel canto favourites as I Capuleti e I Montecchi and Norma by Bellini, Lucrezia Borgia and La Favorita by Donizetti as well as excerpts by Meyerbeer, Rossini, Massenet and Charpentier. At her invitation, she is joined on stage by renowned soloists Atala Schöck and Szabolcs Brickner for duets and arias. The singers are accompanied on the piano by Dániel Dinyés, husband and partner to Klára Kolonits for nearly twenty years. The programme also features flutist János Rácz and Dóra Gjorgjevic, musicians of the Opera Orchestra. The recital is directed by Sylvie Gábor.

Meyerbeer: L’Africaine – Vasco da Gama’s aria from Act 4 (“Pays merveilleux!… Oh Paradis”)
Meyerbeer: L’Étoile du Nord – Catherine’s aria (“C’est bien lui”)
