Jobbik calls on government to launch preferential rental housing scheme for young people
Conservative opposition Jobbik on Friday called on the government to “form a strategic alliance with young people” and launch a preferential rental housing scheme to aid their housing needs.
Some half a million young people are unable to start families of their own because they do not have their own flats and high rent prices prevent them from moving out of their parents’ homes, Jobbik deputy leader Dániel Z Kárpát told a press conference.

The home creation programme proposed by Jobbik would bring 5,000-10,000 newly built or renovated low-rent homes onto the market, he said.
Those moving into these homes would be given the opportunity to buy them at cost price after living in them for six to eight years, he said.
