The EFOTT starts off today
With its day number zero the EFOTT (Egyetemisták És Foiskolások Országos Turisztikai Találkozója) starts off today. It will be the second time the festival conquers Velence in a row, which is interesting, because it was a traditionally traveling festival before, organized in a new location every year.
Among the colorful programmes including sporting, touristic and cultural events the music lineup seems to be strong this year, as well: many Hungarian crowd favourites prepare unusually high level shows, and, for example, Rudimental sent the festivalgoers a message already before the first beer became on tap:
‒ A fantastic audience, excellent food and tasty beer – this is what Hungary means to us! For the university and college students making up EFOTT’s audience we have three suggestions: do not drink too much, enjoy these years as much as you can, and make as many friends possible. ‒ this is what the guys from Rudimental proposed in their message. Next to them foreign DJs like Zomboy, Headhunterz, Borgeous, Firebeatz and a Pendulum DJ set & Verse will perform at the festival.
The choice of programmes at the 12 stages introduces many Hungarian favs as well, many preparing unusual events: PASO will play soundtracks, while 30Y plays young fine artists will paint the “atmosphere” of the concert, Mary PopKids and Z-Drums prepare a literally “smashing” event, while Wellhello comes with a number of dancers. It will be the first time to hear the joint production of Margaret Island, Máté Felcser and JumoDaddy in live; this is the Feszt szerelem, the official anthem of the festival. Also the appearance of Sian Evans, the former singer of Kosheen, joining Brains at the stage, seems to be an event not to be missed.
Furthermore, there will be a new venue, the Artist Pub, where the actual star performers will be responsible for making music, like Dj Kommandó and Dj Ninja (alias Kama and Sanyóca), and, of course, Rendes Pénz. Already on the first day there will be a house party atmosphere, with musicians from the 90’s and Kis Grófo. The master of accurate ball-throwing, Tibor Dévényi prepares to throw a party on three different nights, but, on Friday, György Korda and Klára Balázs, a few other retro icons in Hungary, also take action on stage.
There are also many programmes for the daylight, like the ones offered by the 100 NGOs at the Civil Tér. There will be a stage at this location where many talks and roundtables will be organized, for example. about TV viewing habits and TV series, careers, presented by actors, journalists, the representatives of start-ups and international companies.
Also, if someone happens to be hungry at the festival, in the company of the usually known festival foods there will be Hungarian dishes and handmade hamburgers as well. True gourmets may also watch how the best masterstroke dishes are prepared in the open kitchen of Tamás Széll (Bocuse d’Or Champion chef) Zsófi Mautner.
