The presidential candidate with Hungarians roots leaves the race – VIDEO
George Pataki, former Republican governor of New York State has recently announced that he leaves the presidential race. Pataki has Hungarian roots through his paternal grandfather who immigrated to the United States in 1908. Pataki’s getaway left only 11 presidential candidates among the Republicans, hvg.hu writes.
Pataki has uploaded a video to two social networking sites where he says that “while tonight is the end of my journey for the White House as I suspend my campaign for president, I’m confident we can elect the right person.” The former governor added that the future president should “bring us together, and understand that politicians, including the President, must be the people’s servant, and not their master. I know the best of America is still ahead of us.”
According to several analysts the former governor of New York was hoping that the members of the Republican Party still remember his governing during 9/11. Pataki hoped that they will help him due to the actions and decisions he made back then.
Sadly, the televised presidential candidate debates did not bring him the expected success, and the polls did not show a major lead either. Pataki has already suspended his campaign once when his son-in-law suffered a stroke.
