The Recipe of a Really Good Festival in Hungary
Divány.hu visited the Wine, Ecstasy, Bénye festival and tried to understand why this festival was so good
1. You need a relatively small settlement. In this case, this is Erdőbénye, which belongs to the Tokaj wine region, which means that – with some exaggeration – you can buy wine at every house.
2.It must have original apropos. Erdőbénye is rich in one thing: wine, hence it is obvious to organize a wine festival, Divány,hu says.
3. It must be far enough from Budapest. Crowd is not good for festivals. This one is only visited be the most determined people, because it is very hard to find accomodation.
4. There must be really good food. Restaurants are installed there every year, so you can eat there quality food.
5. There must be good wines. Really good wines are not cheap there either, but you can taste th ebest ones from 2500 HUF.
6. Of course, there must be good programs. According to Divány.hu, jazz concerts, children’s programs, record launches and DJs are also there, but you can not meet with mainstream artists. And it seems that there is no need for that. Of course you can find there photo exhibitions, cheese tasting and much more, making it so colorful.
7. The hosts must be nice. For three days, with some exaggregation, the whole village is working, they are closing streets, making paring lots and the women begin cooking. You can feel that they are doing everything to make the festival good.
8. It must not be unaffordable. Divány.hu does not say that Wine, Ecstasy, Bénye festival would be cheap, but it operates with totally acceptable prices. Of course, there are wines for 1000 HUF/dl, but you can also find lunch for 600 HUF ans wine for 100 HUF/dl. The daily ticket is 2000 HUF and the accomodation costs 6000 in average, but the places run out quickly, so you have to start planning in time, if you would like to visit this festival.
