Wagner days in Budapest, in 2015

festival music

According to mupa.hu, at this year’s Budapest’s Wagener Days, the audience can enjoy the worldwide known tetralogy: The Ring of the Nibelung.

The regular performers of the Wagner singers can be seen again in the operas, such as: Judit Németh, Tünde Szabóki, Iréne Theorin, Petra Lang, Waltraud Meier, Christian Franz, Gerhard Siegel and Walter Fink. The only Wagner work which had been missing so far can be seen in this year for the first time: The Flying Dutchman which is directed by Balázs Kovalik. The main character is sung by the re-returning James Rutherford and Mary is played and sung by Bernadett Wiedemann. The seven-night festival’s artistic director and conductor in 2015 is Ádám Fischer, again.

The following operas can be seen:

Das Rheingold
Die Walküre
Siegfried
Götterdammerung
The Flying Dutchman

The ticket prices range from 5500 to 19900 forints. The operas will be played at the Palace of Arts in the Bartók Béla Concert hall in two terms; first, from 11st June to 14th June, then The Flying Dutchman can be seen from 20th June to 24th June.
