Hungary’s foreign minister, Georgia counterpart discuss transatlantic integration
Budapest, March 29 (MTI) – Georgia is ready to advance to the next level in the process of its integration into the European Union and NATO, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in Budapest on Tuesday after talks with his Georgian counterpart.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Mikheil Janelidze, Szijjartó reiterated that Hungary fully supports Georgia’s transatlantic integration.
Europe is facing enormous security challenges at the moment and now is not the time for an isolationist foreign policy, Szijjarto said, urging the EU and NATO to be open to new allies.
Janelidze said Hungary had always been a close ally to Georgia, and had always supported its sovereignty, territorial integrity and integration into the EU and NATO.
