Parliament to debate bill on banning use of totalitarian symbols for commercial purposes

Budapest, March 19 (MTI) – Lawmakers are next week scheduled to start debating a bill that would ban use of totalitarian symbols for commercial purposes.

Parliament will hold a three-day session over the course of two weeks which will begin on Monday afternoon with speeches prior to the agenda. It will be followed by interpellations and immediate questions for the government.

Lawmakers will begin debating the bill on the commercial use of totalitarian symbols later that day.

Parliament is scheduled to pass resolutions on Tuesday, which will be followed by debates on four proposals. Among them is an amendment proposal to the law on the free transfer of ownership of state-owned properties and national assets, under which ownership of the Grassalkovich Castle in Hatvan would be transferred to the Hungarian Hunters Chamber free of charge.

Parliament will conclude its session on Monday, March 27 with a government-initiated debate on Hungary’s management of its EU funds in the 2014-2020 funding cycle.
