Hungary’s foreign ministry and President Ader condemn Paris massacre
Budapest, January 7 (MTI) – The Hungarian foreign ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack committed by gunmen on the Paris offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
The ministry said it was shocked to learn about the ruthless attack which cannot be justified by anything.
The ministry expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished quick recovery to those injured.
The gunmen attacking the offices of the magazine killed 12 people. According to police at least four people were injured with some of them suffering life-threatening injuries.
Hungarian President Janos Ader on Wednesday expressed his condolences to his counterpart Francois Hollande in a telegram over the shootings in Paris at the offices of a satirical magazine.
“I was deeply shocked and grieved today to hear about the fatal terrorist attack at the Charlie Hebdo magazine’s headquarters,” Ader said in the telegram.
He extended on behalf of the Hungarian people condolences to the families of the victims, to the injured and their relatives. Hungary grieves with France the victims of such a heinous murder, he added.
Hungary condemns all forms of terrorism and stands firm in favour of protecting the common European values of freedom of thought, opinion and the press, Ader said. France can count on Hungary’s support in the fight against perpetrators of such vile and cowardly acts, he added.
Hungary’s foreign ministry has also condemned the attack in a statement.
The gunmen attacking the offices of the magazine at 11.30 am killed 12 people. According to police at least four people were injured with some of them suffering life-threatening injuries.
