Ministry: Hungary welcomes ‘all initiatives’ to resolve Israel-Palestine situation
Hungary welcomes all initiatives that seek to resolve the deadlock between Israel and Palestine, the foreign ministry said on Friday in reaction to President Donald Trump’s plan to bring peace to the region.
The plan that Trump unveiled earlier this week in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposes a two-state solution, with the US acknowledging Israel’s sovereignty over the West Bank settlements and the Golan Heights.
Jerusalem would be acknowledged as the “undivided” capital of Israel. Trump pledged that the US and other countries would provide substantial aid to Palestine if they chose peace.

In a statement, the Hungarian foreign ministry said on Friday that they hoped the plan would “revive peace talks between the parties in the Middle East as this is the only way to a lasting peace.”
