Chinese passenger hospitalised with fever feeling better in Budapest
The Chinese woman, who was taken to hospital after testing with fever at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport on Monday, is feeling better, János Szlávik, department head at the National Institute of Hematology and Infectology, said on Tuesday.
The woman had only mild fever in the morning and stopped coughing, Szlávik said, adding that a final diagnosis can be given once laboratory tests are concluded.
The woman, who holds a Hungarian residency permit, left Hungary on January 12,
the National Public Health Centre (NNK) said on Monday. Neither she nor her family members had visited Wuhan, where the coronavirus emerged.
The woman fell ill during the flight and had shown no signs of illness prior to boarding, NKK said. In line with protocols, the woman was taken to Budapest’s Szent László Hospital where she is to be examined immediately.
