Hungary rolling jobless rate 4.6 pc in Jun-Aug
Hungary’s three-month rolling average jobless rate was 4.6 percent in June-August, edging down 0.2 percentage point from the previous period, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
The rate which unemployment among those between the ages of 15 and 74 was 1.2 percentage points higher than a year earlier.
In absolute terms, there were 214,400 unemployed at the end of August, 9,900 fewer than in the previous 3-month period, but up 57,500 from a year earlier.
The number of employed stood at 4,477,300 at the end of August, 40,200 fewer than in the same period a year earlier. The employment rate was 60.4 percent, down from 60.9 percent a year earlier.
The number of employed included 89,700 Hungarians in fostered work programmes and 100,400 working abroad. The number of those employed on the domestic primary labour market edged down 0.1 percent from a year earlier to 4,287,200, while the number of fostered workers dropped by 16.8 percent. The number of people employed abroad fell by 15.5 percent.
