Hamburger place in Budapest suspended for poor hygiene conditions – VIDEO
The establishment, referred to as a breakfast and hamburger place, had insufficient storage for half-cooked food and vegetables, worked with untraceable food, and provided no protection for sandwiches on the counter, reports Agroinform.
According to the inspection report by the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih), the place did not have appropriate storage facilities for vegetables, nor appropriate water supply equipment to wash them. Freshly arrived boxes of unwashed cucumber with other fruits and vegetables were stored in the customer area, and sandwiches contained unwashed vegetables, too.
Refrigerators did not have enough storage space (half-cooked ingredients were stored on shelves and floors), and they were also uncleaned and iced up. In general, the place was very dirty and unorganised, and many spots were covered in spilt oil and food scraps.
Sandwiches and pastries on the counter were not protected from bugs and airborne diseases, and they were stored next to packaging materials and the dirty dishes used by customers.
As a result of the insufficiency mentioned above, the authorities immediately suspended operations at the establishment. They also withdrew (banned the use and marketing of) ten food items they were unable to track the origin of and ordered the destruction of animal products.
As Agroinform reports, the establishment has since “corrected the insufficiencies”, and based on the positive results of the second check by Nébih, they have since been allowed to resume their services. Proceedings are still in progress, and the amount of the fine is currently being calculated.
The full report and further information on the establishment are also available on Nébih’s website and in their infringement database.

The turkish fastfood kebabs should be regulated and mandatory to use gloves and mask for the employees. They touch the bread with their dirty hands because their are scratching and touching their face, nouse, hair, ears and many of their body areas and even touching the money and immediately after it without washing hands, they take the pita or tortilla bread to prepare the kebab. Is disgusting and dirty and nobody tell them to use gloves. Incredible.
