Economy minister discusses Hungary’s vocational training system with Bulgarian counterpart
Budapest, March 17 (MTI) – Economy Minister Mihály Varga discussed Hungary’s vocational training system with his Bulgarian counterpart Bozhidar Lukarski at talks in Budapest on Thursday.
The sides reviewed opportunities to cooperate in developments in the region, the economy ministry said in a statement.
The ministers agreed that further chances for partnerships exist in the areas of electromobility, healthcare, research and development, and tourism.
Varga noted that Hungarian exports to Bulgaria reached almost 1 billion euros last year.
He said tourism was an engine for economic growth in both countries. A tourism agreement between China and central and eastern Europe offers important cooperation opportunity for Hungary and Bulgaria, he added.
Lukarski later in the day met Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and they signed an economic cooperation agreement between the two countries’ governments.
Under the agreement Hungary and Bulgaria will establish a joint economic committee which is set to hold its inaugural meeting in the first half of this year, Szijjarto told reporters after the talks.
Lukarski said the agreement would broaden the field of cooperation between the two countries and allow them to take advantage of their geographical positions.
