Hungarian government offers free transport to groups involved in protection against epidemic
The government is offering free transport to several groups involved in protection efforts against the coronavirus epidemic, including social workers, in line with a decree that entered force on Wednesday.
In line with the new regulation published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny on Tuesday evening, workers of social institutions, child welfare and protection services can use national, regional and local passenger transport services without having to buy a ticket. The new regulation also applies to public servants, members of the army and the police force.
Those who wish to use the free transport opportunities must have their employer fill out a form attached to the government decree and present this together with identification documents to conductors.
