Hungary chairs European AI Board
The National Economy Ministry said on Monday that Hungary has taken over as chair of the European Artificial Intelligence Board, which was recently established to act as a bridge between Brussels and European Union member states in implementing the AI Act.
Hungary will chair the AI Board during its presidency of the Council of the EU, until the end of 2024.
Szabolcs Szolnoki, the National Economy Ministry’s state secretary for technology will represent Hungary on the AI board. The experts of Neumann Nonprofit and the Government IT Agency will participate in the work of the Hungarian delegation.
The ministry said Hungary believes the AI Act offers a strong legal framework for ensuring the safe and responsible use of AI. It added that Hungary is committed to implementing the AI Act in a way that enforces SME competitiveness and supports economic growth.
