How 5G has changed sports live streaming in Hungary

Technology is changing rapidly and with the introduction of 5G, a newer era of live streaming is on the horizon. One of the areas that may benefit from the capacity of 5G is the telecommunications industry. It has all the potential to change the bases of how people follow news or sports, for instance. The live streaming of sporting events is already an emerging market as sports fans look for alternative ways to follow their beloved teams in the highest possible quality.

The high-quality output that 5G can provide is the thing that will take sports live streaming to the next level. The aforementioned 4G network shows satisfactory results with respect to live streaming but when it comes to live events, telecommunication companies and service providers need to step up their game.

Today, with plenty of fast-paced technological developments, viewers have the technology to watch live sporting events from their mobile devices but oftentimes they lack network speed to keep up refresh rates and to eliminate lags. Once 5G coverage is more accessible in Hungary, sports fans will be able to watch live sports from mobile devices in 1080p and at higher rates without any lags.

However, there is still a long way to go until the majority of Hungarians can follow live sports on a 5G covered network. At this point, the strongest coverage is only available in Budapest, Pest County and in the Lake Balaton area. However, the expansion of the network has already started and many of the old 3G & 2G network sites are under 5G transformation. In the meantime, there are still plenty of other sources that can be utilised for watching live sports.

Some of the most reliable streaming platforms are the various sports betting sites that offer live streaming services for sports bettors. Among all the events, viewers can also follow and watch the Hungarian National Football League (NB I) and oftentimes the football matches of the Second Division (NB II), as well.
